User-Centered Design Consulting & Personas

User-Centered Design (UCD) is the consistent orientation of the process in projects to user requirements.

Design should be regarded as a learning process in cycles of development and usage. The designers learn from the domain experts about their work practice and technology usage. Further learning processes take place on both sides.

Design als Lernprozess

UCD uses methods like field studies and interviews as well as prototyping to enable that learning process.

Personas - user archetypes condensed from usage studies, taken from real life - provide common orientation for customized design. This new methodology from the USA has proven successful esp. with large audiences.
